Cross Stitch Basics

If you want to learn how to cross stitch, you can start by downloading this document:

Cross Stitch Basic Guide

It introduces the basics of cross stitching, including the things you need, and how to begin and end your stitch. It's pretty awesome, but nothing beats trying it yourself! ;)

Gerberas by DMC (Progress #2)

Here's a photo of the project that I've been working on. It's been slow because I've been busy lately. So most probably I won't be able to finish it by the end of next month :( We'll see how it goes...

Went A Lil' Wee Crazy

I don't know what possessed me to splurge so much on magazines this month! I simply couldn't resist from buying past issues of CrossStitcher. Now I think I can say that I have a collection!

See all the cutesy & luxury gifts that comes with the magazines? So bloody tempting~~

Shazuin's Minnie Mouse Kit

Awin tried her hands on cross stitching when she came to my house a few months ago. She helped me with my New York Silhouette project, which is a simple project using only one color (black) against beige Aida. She liked it so much that I decided to present her with a Minnie Mouse Cross Stitch Kit for her birthday!

Here are some of her progress:

Okay, you can't see any shape yet...

Owh, it's a bow!

I see a face without eyes...

Eyes! Pretty eyes!!

Almost finished now...

Oh well, that's her progress so far. She's too busy to complete the whole thing for now. But not bad rite? ;)

Boats and Castle

This is a beautiful pattern I got from my CrossStitcher magazine. I simply love the gentle colors. I'm a big fan of the color purple :)

Hydrangea

Now this is one of my favorites! I love it because of the vivid colors. It probably would look better with black Aida, but I haven't tried that yet ;) I downloaded the free chart at CrossStitcher website.

In My Collections

This is partially my collections of finished projects, magazines, threads, and other cross stitching tools. The rest are all over the house, I need some time to track them down. I've started this hobby since 2 years ago so that's the reason for the somewhat huge collection ;)

My threads are all from DMC. I keep some of them in a tool box, some in clear folders, and threads for specific projects I keep them in a separate box. Obviously, I haven't decided on the best method to keep my hundreds of threads :)

Wedding Present for my Best Bud

This is a project that I completed in 2 weeks only! It was meant as a wedding gift for my best friend Jihan's wedding last month. However, the framing took forever so I haven't gotten the chance to present the gift to the blushing bride. I hope she likes it!

This is a close up of the border; I did it in 5 colors, which I think is pretty ;)

Gerberas by DMC

Currently, I'm working on a project for a friend of mine. She chose this pattern because she wanted to match the yellow with her living room theme. I'm estimating that I will finish this project before the end of next month ;)

About Me

I'm a young lady with an old lady hobby. Well, that is people's perception, that cross stitching is an old lady's hobby. Whatever they say, I don't care! Because I simply LOVE cross stitching :D

This blog is for all my handwork. Some of them are from my personal collections, some are gifts for my friends, and some are for sale.

Have fun exploring :)
